Arc VMM

Virtual machines — Create a guest, give it CPU, memory, UEFI or BIOS firmware, and start it. Reset, pause and resume without stopping. A guest running the QEMU guest agent can be asked to shut down cleanly; one that isn't can still be powered off.

Storage — A built-in file browser for your volumes. Create qcow2 or raw disk images, upload an ISO from your desktop, or hand a guest a whole physical disk. Images live in @arc-vmm on the volume you choose.

Networking — Isolated networks for guests that should only reach each other, or bridged networks that put guests on your LAN alongside the NAS. Multiple adapters per machine.

Browser console — A graphical console in your browser, with no VNC client to install and no port exposed to the network. It goes through DSM's own login, so only a signed-in session can reach it. Serial output and the QEMU log are there too, which is where a machine that refuses to start explains itself.

PCI and GPU passthrough — Give a guest a real graphics card, network card or controller. Arc VMM shows which devices can be isolated, what shares an IOMMU group with what, and what still has to change on the host before a card can be handed over.

USB passthrough — Attach a real keyboard, mouse or drive to a guest. The only practical way to use a machine with a passed-through GPU.

How to get Arc VMM

• DSM Package Center: You can simply install it from Community Apps within the DSM Package Center. (For Arc Loader > 3.0)

• Package Source: Add https://apps.xpenology.tech as a manual package source in your DSM settings.
